Fertilizers
Proman is one of the top ten global producers of nitrogen-fertilizers, which contribute to healthy plant growth and high crop yields, supporting the agricultural sector worldwide.
Ammonia is used as a stabilizer and neutralizer by multiple sectors and as a source of nitrogen in industries such as waste and wastewater management, paper production, in Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) and pharmaceuticals. Carbon dioxide is a by-product of the ammonia production process, which is used by Proman’s methanol production facilities in Trinidad, thereby reducing emissions and waste.
Ammonia is also the most common source of nitrogen in fertilizers and Proman uses it to produce urea ammonium nitrate (UAN), a liquid nitrogen-based fertilizer. Liquid fertilizer solutions containing UAN are versatile as a source of plant nutrition, as they can be combined with other nutrients or chemicals, meaning the liquid fertilizer can be customized to meet the needs of any soil or crop.
Our fertilizers are produced at our plants in the Point Lisas Industrial Estate in Trinidad and Tobago.
