Proman Foundation celebrates the Power of Possibility — Transforming potential into lasting impact across Trinidad and Tobago

Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago —  From classrooms to panyards, and from sports fields to coastlines, the Proman Foundation is transforming potential into progress across Trinidad and Tobago. Established in 2022, the Foundation has so far positively impacted over 12,000 people across more than 70 communities nationwide, through strategic partnerships in education, culture, sport, sustainability, and community development.

On 4 November, the Foundation hosted an event at the Proman Starlift House of Music, under the theme of the “Power of Possibility.” The evening brought together members of Government, community, national partners and Proman’s leadership to celebrate the people and partnerships transforming lives across Trinidad and Tobago. The event showcased several of the Foundation’s flagship initiatives including the Proman Starlift Steel Orchestra, which has nurtured more than 200 young musicians since 2023; the King’s Trust International Me to We Mentorship Programme, which supports over 150 youth annually; Habitat for Humanity TT, which is improving housing and building resilience across the country; the Proman Foundation/Chevening Scholarship which sponsors Trinidad and Tobago nationals through post-graduate study in the UK; and the UTT/Proman Cadetship Programme which bridges the gap between academic learning and real-world experience for aspiring maritime professionals.

The event also celebrated the achievements of three national athletes supported by the Foundation this year, including swimmer Liam Carrington. It was also a chance to thank the dedicated teams of Proman employee volunteers who get involved in supporting community activities, including the 150 employees who recently removed 2 tonnes of waste from the Orange Valley Beach in Couva during the International Coastal Clean-Up initiative.

Speaking at the event, Claus Cronberger, Chairman of the Proman Foundation and Non-Executive Chairman of Proman Trinidad said: “Power of Possibility represents the Proman Foundation’s purpose in action. We are not waiting for change; we are building it. By investing in young people, strengthening communities, and supporting national talent, we are helping to shape a more capable, confident and connected Trinidad and Tobago.”

Anand Ragbir, Managing Director, Proman Trinidad said: “Community investment is central to who we are at Proman. Alongside the Foundation’s work in education, culture, and sport, our own trainee and skills development programmes continue to prepare young people for meaningful careers in the energy and manufacturing sectors. Together, these efforts reflect our belief that Trinidad and Tobago’s greatest resource is its people.”

Guests were treated to a performance by the Proman Starlift Steel Orchestra, arranged by Dante Pantin, led by band vice-captain Aliyaah Lau, and featuring Samiyyah Layne, a former youth camp participant whose journey from learner to performer embodied the evening’s theme. The Proman Foundation continues to drive progress across Trinidad and Tobago by developing talent, building confidence, and promoting inclusion to shape a stronger future for all.
