Proman Energy (formerly DeNovo Energy) is Proman’s upstream natural gas business and plays a central role in strengthening gas security in Trinidad and Tobago. The company develops and operates offshore natural gas assets using an integrated model that combines upstream expertise with renewable technologies.
In 2018, Proman Energy commenced commercial gas production from the Iguana field (Block 1a), helping to ease supply constraints for local petrochemical plants. This was followed in 2022 by the start‑up of the Zandolie field, an unmanned, renewables‑powered offshore facility designed to minimise methane emissions. Together, Iguana and Zandolie operate as Normally Unmanned Installations (NUIs), with Iguana serving as a hub for future offshore development and Zandolie demonstrating a proven model for decarbonisation through a 100% renewably powered platform.
Proman Energy has successfully delivered these projects by leveraging renewable technology, maximising local content through a 100% local workforce supported by international expertise, and maintaining a strong focus on safety and operational excellence. With over five years of operations, the business has achieved an exceptional safety and reliability record, including zero Lost Time Injuries to date and a 99.68% onstream factor in 2025. This reflects Proman’s long‑standing commitment to HSSE, operational excellence and reliable service across Trinidad and Tobago’s energy sector.
