Proman Shipping

Based in Wollerau, Switzerland, Proman Shipping was established in 2018 to provide maritime expertise, commercial vessel management and global ocean transportation, and also acts as a vessel co‑owner. The company manages a fleet of eight time‑chartered vessels in addition to its six methanol‑powered ships, operating on routes across North America, South America, Europe and Asia.

In 2019, Proman Shipping entered a 50–50 joint venture with Stena Bulk to operate three long‑term time‑chartered vessels equipped with the latest methanol dual‑fuel engines. Three further Proman‑owned vessels were subsequently added, bringing the total methanol‑fuelled fleet to six. Proman continues to champion methanol as a viable marine fuel, leveraging its fully integrated, diversified value chain.

Proman’s 49,990 DWT methanol‑fuelled vessels operate globally, proving methanol’s suitability as a mainstream marine fuel. Compared with conventional fuels, methanol reduces nitrogen oxides (NOx) emissions by up to 80 per cent and virtually eliminates sulphur oxides (SOx) and particulate matter. It is also biodegradable, compatible with existing technology, easy to handle and available at more than 120 ports worldwide.
