Proman Foundation celebrates two years of developing skills and building communities across Trinidad and Tobago
Port of Spain, Trinidad – On November 13, the Proman Foundation marked its second anniversary at the Proman Starlift House of Music in Port of Spain, celebrating two years of dedicated work in developing skills and building communities across Trinidad and Tobago.
The event brought together representatives from the diplomatic corps and leaders from the energy, finance, and business sectors, alongside community leaders and beneficiaries of the Foundation’s work.
Since its establishment in 2022, the Proman Foundation has partnered with a range of non-governmental organisations (NGOs), community-based organisations (CBOs), and other groups, funding critical programmes that support vulnerable populations, including low-income households, the homeless, and individuals facing health challenges. These partnerships, coupled with the Foundation’s commitment to youth empowerment, skills training, and cultural development, have collectively fostered positive change, supporting sustainable growth in communities across Trinidad and Tobago. Since its inception, the Foundation has reached over 12,000 beneficiaries in 70+ communities, providing pathways for growth, resilience, and opportunity.
Speaking at the event, Proman Foundation Chair and Executive Chairman of Proman Trinidad, Claus Cronberger, reflected on the Foundation’s purpose, stating: “Tonight is not about us as an organisation. It’s about the inspiring individuals – the young leaders, talented artists, and dedicated community members – whose stories bring meaning to the Foundation’s work and the volunteers that make it happen. It’s through them that we see the true impact of this Foundation, and we’re here to celebrate that.”
The evening’s programme showcased testimonials from beneficiaries whose lives have been touched by the Foundation’s support. Jared Odain-Samaroo, a graduate of the Proman and UTT cadetship programme, shared the transformative impact of the Foundation on his life. He said: “This journey has been possible because of the Proman Foundation, UTT, and, most importantly, my family. Their support and belief in education shaped who I am today, giving me the confidence, training, and opportunities to build a future I’m proud of. I wouldn’t be where I am today without it.”
Dante Pantin, arranger for the Starlift Steel Orchestra, spoke of his vision for the future, supported by the Foundation’s commitment to local culture and the arts. “The Foundation’s support of Starlift goes beyond music,” said Dante. “It brings people together, inspires us, and gives us the resources to keep pushing forward. After our fourth place finish this year, I’m already looking ahead to Panorama 2025, and I’m confident we’ll reach new heights.”
The evening concluded with a moving tribute by the Starlift Steel Orchestra, celebrating the unity, talent, and community spirit fostered through the Foundation’s local partnerships.
As the Proman Foundation looks ahead, it remains dedicated to expanding its impact, with a commitment to supporting Trinidad and Tobago’s future leaders, developing skills and building communities through programmes that reflect its vision of empowerment and shared progress.
