Proman Group expands capabilities in petrochemical shipping with new entity, Proman Shipping AG
Proman Group today announces the establishment of a new petrochemical shipping company, Proman Shipping AG. The new venture, headquartered in Wollerau, Switzerland, builds upon the company’s current shipping offering, with the intention of improving fleet utilization, delivery optimization and increased synergies among the Proman Group of companies.
The Group’s vessels were previously time-chartered by its subsidiary in Trinidad, Methanol Holdings (Trinidad) Limited (MHTL), however, effective from 01 April 2018, commercial control of the fleet was transferred to Proman Shipping AG. MHTL with over two decades of experience in vessel management, will continue to provide operational support to the new company.
Anita Gajadhar, formerly Commercial Manager at MHTL in Trinidad, will be taking up the post of MD for Proman Shipping AG, and will be based in Wollerau.
David Cassidy, Chief Executive of Proman Group said:
“Proman Shipping AG brings us even closer to achieving our vision of establishing a leading, highly efficient, and high-quality shipping service for our customers. A distinct entity offers us the added benefit of greater flexibility to diversify our shipping operations and expand our geographical reach, all under a central brand.
I want to thank MHTL for their efforts in the management of the Group’s fleet of vessels and look forward to their continued support as we aim to extend the Group’s global reach.”
Anita Gajadhar, MD of Proman Shipping AG said:
“I am delighted to be at the helm of operations of the new Proman shipping venture, driving Proman Shipping AG to become the premier petrochemical shipping company for methanol, chemicals and clean petroleum products.
My vision, drawing upon years of experience leading the shipping operations at MHTL, is to establish new systems and structures for Proman Shipping AG that will facilitate growth, global collaboration and an improved offering for our internal and external customers, especially with the expansion of the Group’s methanol operations in North America.”
